With over 18 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families, Dr. Rae Turner brings warmth, curiosity, and respect to the therapeutic process. Her work is grounded in Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), approaches that help clients heal from trauma, rebuild trust, and reconnect with a sense of hope and possibility. Dr. Turner’s therapeutic approach also draws from DBT and ACT within a trauma-informed, psychodynamic, and attachment-focused framework. Sessions are collaborative, experiential, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and strengths.
Dr. Turner believes that meaningful change begins in safe, attuned relationships. Whether supporting a teen struggling with anxiety, a young adult navigating transitions, or parents seeking new ways to connect, she helps clients identify core patterns, repair attachment wounds, and rediscover hope where it may have felt lost. Together, clients and families learn to transform painful experiences into opportunities for growth and resilience.
Dr. Turner’s background spans educational, clinical, and leadership settings. Before joining the Bridge to Bridge Psychotherapy Group, she served as Clinical Director and Family Therapist at Newport Healthcare, guiding teams and families through complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Earlier in her career, she worked as an Individual Therapist and Lead Residential Teacher, providing direct therapeutic care and coordinating academic and behavioral support for adolescents in treatment. Prior to her clinical work, Dr. Turner spent over a decade as a middle school teacher, where she fostered curiosity, confidence, and collaboration in the classroom. These experiences continue to inform her integrative approach to therapy, emphasizing structure, empathy, and authentic connection.
Dr. Turner holds a PsyD and MA in Clinical Psychology from Meridian University, is EMDR-certified through EMDRIA, and has completed advanced training in Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
At the heart of Dr. Turner’s work is a deep belief in each person’s capacity to heal, grow, and reclaim hope, no matter how long it has been out of reach.
